Confession of Faith
Our confession of faith places us within historic, orthodox Christianity.
Intentionally named after the street our building was built on, Princeton Avenue Church has a vision for the immediate neighborhood, both in evangelism and in mercy ministry. While we welcome commuters and broader Spokane to join with us, our ministry has a primary target in ministering to the lost in our geographic context, all to the praise of His glorious grace.
In short, we want your Sunday for your spiritual formation. From our Worship Service, to an equipping hour, to a prayer night or member meeting, we are asking that you set aside your Sunday for the nourishment of your souls, your being equipped for ministry, and for setting the trajectory for the rest of your week. We do not want the building up of your faith to be left to chance, and we believe it is a primary responsibility of elders to teach, equip, and give an account for your souls. While this could be done differently and events will arise throughout the year, in general, we are setting aside the Lord’s Day as both the commanded day to gather while also making the pragmatic decision to free up the rest of the week for as much member ministry and community outreach as possible.
We envision the Lord’s Day empowering not only your own personal growth in Gospel grace and exhortation during our worship service and evening prayer, but also for your children to be equipped through catechism and meaningful curriculum to be followed up during the rest of the week.
We view the Lord’s Day as the point from which the rest of our weekly ministry flows. This comes from verses like Ephesians 4:11-16, where members, not simply pastors or elders, are equipped for the work of ministry. Consequently, our Sunday content and teaching has your equipping for ministry as its intended outcome. Our calendar will also reflect this value as we, to the best of our ability, clear the church calendar for members to do the work of ministry as they’re equipped by spiritual leadership on the Lord’s Day.

Our Doctrinal Distinctives aim to provide sufficient theological clarity and promote effective unity.
